So-So Weekend

As many of you know my in-laws were coming in town over the long weekend. They arrived as planned on friday evening. We got up and went to a local dinner (but we had lunch) theatre to see the kids version of Snow White. We had a fantastic time, Katelyn dressed up like snow white. We left and came home and was making plans for the rest of our holiday weekend when my husbands father got a call from his brother that his 22 year old son was found dead in his sleep. So needless to say that completely ruined the rest of our time together. Emotions were all over the board. My in-laws left to go back to Ohio to be with my husbands Uncle. My hubby is just devastated that his
cousin has died at such a young age. There will be an autopsy to find out the actual cause of death. But for now there is a funeral on Thursday that we will be driving up for. Just so sad.

So needless to say as of right now - no crafting. I will leave you with photos of Katelyn though!!!

Walk on the Waterfront

Katelyn had a field trip this week to the Waterfront to do a Healthy Challenge Walk - Bill my hubby got to join her.
Each school wore a different color shirt, so the kids could be kept track of. My hubby said there were over 4000 kids down there. My daughters teacher and my hubby were the only chaperones for my daughters class of 25. Bill found himself the pack mule for the cooler and a 24 pack of water for the walk. ;o) He loved every minute of it though!


Coach Moe from the Biggest Loser was there to help everyone warm up before their walk. This totally freaked Katelyn out because as you know we are big fans of the show.

A Couple Layouts

The next one I used this sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.

Both of these are layouts from when my husband and SIL went on a 5k walk a few weeks ago. It is the first 5K that my husband has walked since he has lost 160 pounds. They both were determined and they did it! Losing weight is hard work, but it so worth it!

Retirement Party Reveal..........

I went to a "surprise" retirement party last night for my best friends father. I got to present this scrapbook that they asked me to make. He designed commercial wallcovering for over forty years. Talk about talent, he was even published in an Interior Magazine for his accomplished work.

I was given samples of his designs that were presented in small booklets, so when you open the booklet you see the design. I was given letters that his co-workers wrote when they heard he was retiring. I also used one of his designs as part of the front cover of the book.

I had fun with it.............
