Retirement Party Reveal..........

I went to a "surprise" retirement party last night for my best friends father. I got to present this scrapbook that they asked me to make. He designed commercial wallcovering for over forty years. Talk about talent, he was even published in an Interior Magazine for his accomplished work.

I was given samples of his designs that were presented in small booklets, so when you open the booklet you see the design. I was given letters that his co-workers wrote when they heard he was retiring. I also used one of his designs as part of the front cover of the book.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Katelyn made this dry erase board for her teacher. She finished it tonight. I picked up the frame today off the clearance rack at Dollar General for $1.80 - whoo-hoo! But Katelyn transformed it beautifully! She used some of my stock of flowers from my Artfire shop (don't worry I still have plenty for sale too - or I will always do a special request - just email me). The top part she wrote on the outside with the dry erase marker that she attached at the bottom and then the picture from her Mayor Cup Awards - is under the glass along with the red writing - that is the permanent note she wanted to write for her teacher. She is a chip off the ole' block - I just love crafting with her!!!!

A thank you card from Brandy over at You Don't Know..... - for the scrapbook I made for her and she added a gift card to Michael's (this made me weak in the knees - SO SWEET BRANDY!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!)

Then the wonderful Maggi from over at ~*Just Add Glitter and Stir*~ gave me the above awesome yummy mixed media kit from Gauche Alchemy blog - she is on their DT!! Go check it out!!!
Then she crocheted this awesome stuffed animal for Katelyn. I will get a better photo of it later!!! Right now I could not pry it from her grubby little hands!!!! Thanks Maggi - she loves it!!!!

Challenge Layouts

Here is my take on the sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays. You could also list things about your self that you are into right now - well I am all about me and my hubby because yesterday was our 11th wedding anniversary.

The new challenge is up over at These Are a Few of My Favorite Things . It is to do a layout about one of your favorite Cities. I am still very fond of Charleston, SC - because that is where my hubby surprised me and took us on our honeymoon.
